If you’re anything like me, you spend hours scouring Instagram, studying people’s photos to figure out how they got that angle, what props they’ve used, where they purchase those props, and how they’ve managed to take such a stunning photo. I’ll definitely admit that I’ve stared at more than one photo on Instagram and wondered how I could achieve an almost identical result. After all, they say imitation is a form of flattery…right?

Why I left my Instagram comment pods and don't regret a thing. You don't need to be in a pod to have high Instagram engagement.

Instagram pods, some people love them, some people hate them, some people may have no idea what I’m talking about. If you don’t know, Instagram pods consist of a group of people on Instagram (maximum 15) who are part of a chat. Each time one of the members posts on Instagram, they notify the pod and each member must go and like the photo as well as comment. There’s usually rule about comment length, if you have to comment, if you have to like the photo, and so on.

Blogger Chat Claire Lee With Love Beauty Lifestyle

Happy Tuesday friends! Today I’m kicking off my brand new collab series, and I’m so excited! I wanted to help other bloggers gain exposure, and I thought what better way than to interview them! This way they gain exposure, and you, my audience, learn some great tips about blogging. I hope through this series that you discover new bloggers who you grow to love and follow.

Today I’m featuring Claire Lee and her blog, Clairbear Blogs. On her blog she features food, travel, and life tips (check out her awesome guide to NYC)!

Claire Bear Blogger With Love Blog

1. When and why did you start blogging?

Originally started blogging last year in April, but I wouldn’t really count that since it was just a small hobby. I started to be really active beginning January of 2017. I started blogging because I wanted to share experiences with the people out there. Talking about my experiences is overrated, and too much, I wanted to write it out (like a journal, but in public).

2. What’s your favorite part about blogging?

I just love expressing the moments and memories through photos and text. It really takes a lot of time and thoughts, but that is what makes fun in blogging.

3. Least favorite part about blogging?

It really takes time, and a LOT of things to learn (which is fun & overwhelming at the same time).

4. Your number one tip or piece of advice for other bloggers.

When you start off, make sure to utilize all the social media platforms, and try to use automated platforms instead of doing everything one by one.

5. One thing you wish you knew when you first started blogging.

Monetizing my blog? I knew people got paid with blogging and social media posts but I didn’t really think it was a complicated process; now I am starting to learn, but you need that grasp.

6. Product, piece of clothing, or beauty tool you can’t live without?

Product will be my iPhone & Mac, clothing would probably my super comfy pajamas, and beauty tool would probably be my eyeliner & a pink blush from Clinique!

7. Favorite song (or top 5, I know it’s hard for me to pick!)

My current favorite song is Drive By by Eric Bellinger

8. One fact that most people wouldn’t know about you

You can easily think I am super outgoing & love being with people, (because I don’t mind socializing with people I don’t know) but most of the time I enjoy being by myself & writing in a quiet room for hours alone.

9. Favorite junk food (we all have one…)

Chocolate chip cookie!!!

10. Most loved quote

“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.” – Orson Welles

Bluebird tea pineapple coconut cocktail

Summer is here, and so are the ice cold cocktails. While I’m not a huge drinker, I definitely enjoy a nice cocktail every once and awhile, especially when I’m hanging out with some friends. There’s nothing like relaxing on a lounge chair after a long day and enjoying a drink. By a pool would be even better, however I don’t have one of those. Maybe one day…

May Income & Traffic Report

Another month has come and gone! As we say goodbye to May I want to start doing something new, and that’s posting income reports! Along with the income reports I’ll be sharing the goals I’ve set for myself for the upcoming month. I see a lot of bloggers doing this, and I hope that by doing it myself I feel more drive to reach my goals.

I went back and forth about posting my income, because quite frankly, it’s nonexistent. However, I want to show smaller bloggers like myself that not everyone is making thousands of dollars a month. I also want to share my income with the hopes of gaining advice from bloggers WHO ARE making thousands of dollars a month. So, if that’s you, please sound off in the comments below. Everyone can learn a thing or two from you!

With that being said, let’s break everything down.

Income

  • Google Adwords: $0.51
  • Viglink: $0.00
  • Etsy: $0.00
  • Amazon Affiliates: $0.00
  • iPage Affiliate: $0.00
  • Total: $.0.51

Yup, I made a whopping $.0.51 this month! Hopefully these numbers increase next month.

Expenses

  • Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop: $10.00
  • Etsy Listings: $1.80
  • iPage hosting: $3.00
  • Total: $14.80

Traffic Report

One thing that did increase this month was my traffic! I had set a goal to reach 1,000 page views for the month of May, and I reached that!

  • Total Traffic for April: 723 page views
  • Total Traffic for May: 1,347
  • Total Increase: 624 page views, or a 86.21% increase in page views!

Social Media Stats

  • Pinterest Followers: 60
  • Instagram Followers: 233
  • Twitter Followers: 169
  • Email Subscribers: 21. I gained 13 of those subscribers during the month of May.

Goals for June

I’m starting a new job on Monday the 5th of June (yay!), however that means I will have FAR less time to devote to my blog. There will be some growing pains as I learn how to balance working full time and running a blog (on top of everything else I do). I’m going to cut back from posting twice a week to only posting once a week, as that sounds much more manageable to me. That being said, I would still love to see my blog continue to grow. So, what are my goals?

  • Reach 2,000 page views
  • Reach 300 Instagram followers
  • Post 4 times during June
  • Sell 5 prints on my Etsy shop
  • Gain 10 more email subscribers

Miss a Post?

I know I follow a lot of bloggers, and it’s hard to get around to reading every post that ends up in my inbox. I’ve listed all the posts the went up in May in case you missed one.

So what are your goals for June? Did you reach the goals you set for yourself during May? Leave a comment below!

I have a bit of a different post for you today (I promise we’ll get back to beauty related posts on Friday)! Over the past week or so I’ve been in the process of opening an Etsy shop, and I’m so excited to announce that it’s now open! I’ve named the Etsy shop With Love Creative, as I feel it’s really an extension of my blog.

I’ve mentioned a few times on here that I’ve been wanting to start monetizing my blog, but wasn’t sure about what the right approach was. I’m part of some affiliate marketing programs, and you may have noticed some ads here and there, but neither of those are bringing in much income. I had no interest or time to write an ebook or create an online blogging course, but I do have a passion for design!

With that being said, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to open up a shop and share my designs with my readers 🙂 Right now I only have 8 listings, but my shop will continue to grow as the creative juices start flowing. I love quotes, so right now a lot of my prints feature a quote of some sort. I do plan on posting more of my photography to be purchased in the near future as well.

Digital Download Etsy Shop

All my prints range in price from $3.00 USD to $5.00 USD, with most being between $3.00 and $4.00. Every download contains 4 PDF files; a 4×6, a 5×7, an 8.5×11, and an 11×14. This allows you to have freedom to do what you wish with your prints! As for printing your design, there are multiple options. Print them at home, send the file to your local print shop, or upload the file to a site like Mpix or Shutterfly.

I am so excited that my Etsy shop is now open, and I hope you’re excited too! There is now a link in the menu to my Etsy shop, so check by every so often to see what’s new. It would mean the world to me if you headed over to my shop, and maybe even share it with friends and family you think may be interested.

See you all Friday!
