I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for the next product that will make my hair look it’s best with as little effort as possible from my end. Hair products can be incredibly expensive, and you can easily spend $100 or more after buying only a few items. While it can take some effort, there are good and affordable products at the drugstore that will make your hair look beautiful. A little about my hair before I share my favorite products: I have thin, shoulder length hair that gets oily after one day. I wash it everyday or every other day depending on how gross it looks. I also use heat on my hair a lot, as curling my hair makes it look thicker and like there’s more of it.

L'Oreal hair care drugstore

These two are a new find, and wow am I grateful I stumbled upon this shampoo and conditioner combo. What drew me to these products was the fact that they’re made specifically for hair that’s oily at the roots and dry at the ends. I’ve never seen shampoo and conditioner that’s geared toward my exact hair type like these two are! Normally the day after washing my hair my roots are so oily and flat that it physically feels gross. I’ve always envied women who can go days without washing their hair, and after using this system I feel like I’m one of those women now! My second day hair is manageable, lightweight, and non-greasy. It also smells incredible thanks to pleasant fragrance that the shampoo and conditioner have.

Tresemme hair care drugstore

I like to use the sea salt spray and smoothing serum on dry hair after I’ve styled it. I find sea salt spray works best when I spray it into my hands, rub it around, and then run my hands through my already curled hair. It creates a perfectly messy look and those beach waves that are incredibly popular right now. This salt spray from Tresemmé doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel sticky, which are two major problems I find with a lot of sea salt sprays. The smoothing serum from Tresemmé eliminates frizz and makes my hair smooth and shiny!

Drugstore Hair Care

The Pantene hairspray is the first drugstore hairspray I’ve used that feel high end. It’s alcohol so it won’t dry out your hair, in fact it manages to make my hair feel softer! It has flexible hold, meaning I can spray it on my curls, brush my hair out, and the hairspray will still work all day to hold my curls how I want them. The one flaw I have found with this product is that the nozzle gets clogged with hairspray quite often.

The Not Your Mother’s texture spray works double duty, acting as a texture spray as well as a hairspray. If you want a tousled, messy look, curl your hair and then spray your hair with this product! The curls will stay all day and they’ll be perfectly messy. I also like using this texture spray on second day hair before I throw it up in a messy bun. It gives my hair some grip and hold.

A product I haven’t heard talked about a lot it is the dry shampoo from Herbal Essences. The dry shampoo is paraben free and made with natural tapioca to absorb oil and leave your hair looking clean and fresh. A lot of dry shampoos I’ve used in the past leave my hair feeling heavy and dirtier than before I had used the product. This is the first one I’ve tried that actually does something and improves the look and feel of my hair. That alone is enough reason to keep buying it!
