Even if you’re not conscious of it, clothing plays a big part in our lives. Every day we wake up and decide what outfit to wear. We base our decisions off of the weather, how we’re feeling that day, and what we plan on doing. For most of us, our jobs are a big influencer when it comes to what we choose to wear each day. Maybe you work in a casual office where jeans and a nice top are acceptable on an everyday basis. Or maybe you have to wear a suit or dress to work every day, complete with pearls and a modest neckline.
Whatever it may be, you probably can’t go right from the office to the bar to meet up with your friends without making a few changes. If you plan it right, making the switch from day to night can be as easy as one two three! By simply changing your shoes and earrings your outfit can look completely different. Switch out your purse for a clutch and swipe on a more daring lipstick and you’re ready to go! Need some inspiration? Check out my ideas below!
I like more of a monochrome look, so I went with black and white with a pop of pink from the purse. The gold and black onyx earrings and bracelet from AUrate provide just enough bling without being too flashy. I think the white pants are a nice addition to the outfit and break up all of the black. The blazer and top are both from H&M, which is a great place to shop for affordable work wear! I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do is wear heels to the office for 8 hours. Instead I went with these cute flats from Steve Madden.
To take this outfit from day to night I’d first start with removing the blazer. Switching your earrings from studs to a more dramatic pair can instantly change the whole feel of the outfit. AU rate has some beautiful statement earrings that would complete any outfit! What do you think? You could stick with the flats, but if you feel like being a little extra, now would be the time to throw on a pair of killer heels. Throw the essentials into a clutch, put on a red lip, and you’re now ready to meet up with the girls!
With a little planning, any work appropriate outfit can also be the perfect outfit to meet up with friends. There’s no need to stress about going home to change! Throw a few things in your car, make the change when you leave the office, and you’re all set! What do you think of my outfits? Let me know in the comments below!

As I type this there is a blizzard ripping through NY so it doesn’t quite feel like Spring; however it has to come eventually, right? Right…? *Looks around frantically for some confirmation*
Spring weather or not, clothing stores and boutiques are filling their stores with floral patterns, cute sun dresses, and flowy skirts. I’ve had my eye on a lot of different pieces so I thought I would put them together in a post to inspire my readers to update their Spring wardrobe!
I think Raglan tops can be so cute and are incredibly comfortable. I love the feminine touch of this top from Filly Flair and I can see myself wearing it with jeans or some little white shorts.
2. Find a Way Floral Maxi Dress – Filly Flair
Someone find me a field of flowers I can frolick through while wearing this dress! I think it’s absolutely stunning and it also looks really comfortable and flattering. I only own one maxi dress but it’s my mission to buy more that fit my small frame.
I love a good corduroy skirt, and this one comes in blush pink! It’s the perfect color for spring and can easily be paired with little sneakers or some nice sandals for a dressier look.
4. Selfie Leslie Rose Print Romper – Forever 21
I’m actually drooling over this romper. Everything about it is stunningly beautiful and would be great for a wedding, formal dinner, or just because!
5. Cache Rose Gold Sandals – Steve Madden
I mean this sandals are rose gold, what’s not to love? The shine on them makes them great for more formal events when you want to look put together but don’t want the pain of wearing heels. They’d also be great paired with jeans and cute top for a more casual day. Little sandals like these ones are really versatile.
6. Classic Navy Blue Top – Lulus
I’m a sucker for stripes. My closet doesn’t need anymore but I can’t resist this top. The bell sleeves and laced up details are a nice addition to the top and make it different from anything I currently own. I love it paired with white shorts like in the picture!
7. Chic Taupe Clutch – Lulus
I don’t own anything like this little purse, and I think it’s gorgeous. The suede flap is a nice detail and I like that the strap can be taken off and the purse can be held as a clutch.
Oops more stripes! Told you I couldn’t stay away. This dress looks so comfortable and perfect for those days when wearing pants is just too much work. The back is also gorgeous and could be really pretty with a white bralette underneath.
9. Road Trip Responsibilities Denim Shorts – ModCloth
These shorts are adorable and I need them. I would take the bandana off of the belt loop but I absolutely love the red peeking out from the pockets. It’s such a nice change from the typical denim shorts.
10. Happiness Is a Warm Mug T-Shirt – ModCloth
Nothing like a good t-shirt to cozy on up in at the end of the day, and this one is adorable! I love tea, and I love t-shirts so this is the perfect pairing. A tea-shirt, if you will. Okay, I’m done now.

Here in Upstate NY it has been unseasonably warm the past few days. My friend and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed out to do some shopping and grab lunch. I thought an outfit post was in order to show how you can take some Winter pieces and incorporate them into your Spring wardrobe. Right now it’s 65º out and storms are predicted to roll in later today. Tomorrow it’s back to the 35º weather that’s typical around where I live. This brief glimpse of Spring has me excited for the warmer months, driving with the sunroof open, and trying my hand at more outfit posts like this one!
I’ve had this pink leather jacket from INC for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. It’s held up really well, and while it’s a bit big on me, it’s good for layering on those colder days. I paired the jacket with a simple white, button up tank top from Forever 21.
The sunglasses are from Charming Charlie’s as is my watch! They’re such a great store to buy inexpensive and stylish accessories from. My jeans are from American Eagle and they are one of the most worn items in my closet. I love that they’re ripped but still have fabric behind the rips; perfect for Winter and early Spring!
This little black purse is from Forever 21. I got it last year and for how inexpensive it was it’s held up nicely. It can’t fit too much, but there is enough room for my phone, lipstick, car keys and a little wallet. That’s really all I ever have me anyways.
These boots are another well loved item in my closet. They go with everything and make me taller! The only issue with these boots is the slit in the sides. It’s a cute detail but I need to wear socks with these shoes and you can always see them! Oh well, I hope, other than in this post, that no one is looking that closely at my feet.
One of my favorite details of this outfit are my earrings. Unfortunately I can’t find them on Forever 21’s website anymore as I got them last year, but Rose Gold is everywhere right now so I’m sure you could find something similar. I think they’re so unique and are edgy while still being feminine. The top stud is actually a separate piercing of mine.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my outfit and a different style (no pun intended) post from me. I really enjoyed putting this one together and hopefully you’ll be seeing more outfit posts from me in the future.
Enjoy your weekend!
