Another month has come and gone. I’m not going to lie, I am¬†so excited that October is over because that means we’re one month closer to Christmas! Also, we’re mere weeks away from Thanksgiving and that means eating¬†all the food! Who doesn’t love food?

I’m honestly starting to feel like Spring is a myth; a figment of my imagination that will never come to fruition. The date is March 31, and there is still snow on the ground. Every time the snow melts mother nature decides we need more and gives us a few more inches. I’m so sick of it. At this rate we’re going to have snow in July. If anyone wants to take me on an all expenses paid trip¬†to a tropical island, I would really appreciate it.¬† Keep Reading!

Happy new year and welcome back to my blog! I’m still here, silently mourning the end of December and the holiday season. I’m prolonging taking down the Christmas decorations for as long as possible while still burning holiday candles and eating Christmas candy. How is December really over?! It feels like I just put up my tree and hung the lights. Time really does fly by as you get older.

One of the best ways to conquer the end of holiday blues is by keeping busy, and I’m doing that by sharing everything I loved during the month of December with you guys! I got a brand new Canon Rebel T6 camera for Christmas and I’ve been having so much fun learning how to use it. I’m really excited to start taking better pictures and see my blog grow and improve throughout 2017.

A lot of my favorites during the month of December are items I ordered from e.l.f. during their Black Friday sale. I did a whole post about that haul which you can read right here.

img_0159

The first thing is this blush and highlighter duo in St.Lucia. The blush is a beautiful peach color with gold glitter in it, and it’s complimented by the bronzer that also has gold glitter in it! The glitter isn’t too noticeable though, it just provides that perfect amount of glow to make you look beautiful and healthy.

img_0160

Another favorite from that haul is the Rose Gold eyeshadow palette. I’ve used this so many times this past month and I’m still not sick of it. The color range is perfect, the shadows last all day, and there’s a good mix of matte and shimmer. It’s a nice change from the typical brown and tan shades you find in most nude palettes.

img_0168

The baked highlighter in Blush Gems is another great product from e.l.f. I love the way this highlight looks when it catches the light, it just looks so natural and effortless on my skin. If you’re a pale girl like me you need to try this product!

img_0166

My last e.l.f. favorite for the month is their smudge pot in the shade wine not. It’s a gorgeous, deep purple shade that is so easy to throw on, blend out, and be done with. The shadow does not budge or fade and looks great for hours!

img_0167

This Colourpop liner in Get Paid blew me away the first time I used it. It’s a gel liner that glides on so easily and is incredibly pigmented. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to use a copper eyeliner, but oh my gosh is the color amazing! This is the first item I’ve tried from Colourpop and it makes me want to place an order for more things.

img_0164

The last bit of makeup I was really impressed with is Diamond Powder from Winky Lux. I’ve never heard of this company or product before, but my friend gave it to me along with a bunch of other makeup she no longer wanted or used. The powder feels like silk, and has the smallest flecks micro glitter in it. I use this to set my under eye concealer and it looks flawless. I would really love to buy the full size of this product as it can be built up and used as a powder foundation.

img_0157

I had a terrible breakout all over my chin this past month and I had a feeling that it was my cleanser that was causing the issues. After poking around the Internet and reading about people’s favorite cleaners I decided to give this one a try. I’d heard of CeraVe for a while now, but for some reason never thought to give it a try until now. This is honestly the first cleanser I’ve tried that claims to be hydrating and actually is! The product itself looks like a lotion and feels very thick. It melts off dirt and makeup and helped clear up my breakout within days.

img_0162

Lastly, I have a tea favorite! I studied abroad in Brighton England in the fall of 2015 and while there I fell in love with the Bluebird Tea Company. They make so many gourmet teas in flavors I have never heard of or thought would taste good in the form of tea. While the shop in Brighton is the only one that exists, they do ship worldwide! I ordered a couple bags as gifts for family and ordered myself this mint chocolate rooibos flavor. It tastes like heaven and is the perfect drink on a cold day. If you’re a tea lover I highly recommend checking out this company!

And that concludes my December Favorites! I’m looking forward to whatever 2017 may have in store and seeing where my blog goes. Happy new year everyone!

It’s time for another favorites post! I’ve found and tried some really great products and clothing that I’m so excited to share with you. If you live in the states I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving last week, I know I did! There was so much food, and I got to spend time with family that I haven’t seen in a long time. If you need ideas for a game that your whole family can play together during the holidays, I highly suggest the game Heads Up. You can download the app onto your phone and then all you need is at least 4 people to play! My family and I had such a good time yelling out clues for the person guessing what the object on the iPad was. Every time we said it was going to be the last round we continued to play because it was so much fun!

Moving on from November and into December I’m looking forward to all things Christmas related and hopefully starting a new job soon! I have a feeling December is going to be a good month… Before we get there though it’s time to share what I loved this month!

img_3286

While taking pictures for this post I’ve realized that out of any drugstore brand I definitely have the most things from NYX. I really enjoy so many of their products, and I tried out three of them in November; the Lip Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt, the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo, and the HD Studio Photogenic concealer.

img_3318

The Lip Lingerie doesn’t dry all the way, and unfortunately is a little sticky. However, it is completely matte, still very comfortable to wear, and and stays put all day. The formula is also incredibly opaque, meaning you only need one layer of this lipstick and then you’re ready to head out the door! All the shades in the Lip Lingerie line are various nude colors, so there’s sure to be a shade for everyone. You can check out a makeup look I did with this lipstick here.

img_3312

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now you’ll know that I love the Soft Matte Lip Creams. The formula is velvety, comfortable, and unlike the Lip Lingerie it does completely dry down. I was in need of a matte red lipstick and I had had my eye on Monte Carlo for a while. The formula is just like the other lip creams (read more about them here) and the shade of red is perfect for holiday parties!

I had heard good things about the NYX HD concealer, and at only $5 it’s a steal! It provides medium coverage, blends really well, and doesn’t move or crease. I bought the lightest shade available and use this concealer for underneath my eyes. I do find that it clings and accentuates any dry skin you may have though.

img_3289

I’ve been trying out a lot of new skin care products as the temperatures have dropped and my skin has dried out. With that being said, one of the things I’ve really enjoyed using is the drying mask from Mario Badescu. This mask smells awful. There, I said it. Moving past the smell, this mask does an incredible job at clearing up acne. I tried out a moisturizer this month that gave me the worst acne I’ve had in a very long time. This mask really helped clear things up! Made with sulfur, calamine, and cucumber amongst other ingredients, this mask is both clarifying and soothing. After 20 minutes of wearing this mask my face is so tight I can hardly move it. That’s when you know it’s time to take it off! After using this product, I’ll follow up with a hydrating mask the next night to ensure that my skin is still hydrated.

To help fight the dry skin around my eyes I’ve purchased the Garnier Ultra-Lift anti-wrinkle firming eye cream (say that five times fast!). After just a week of using this product I noticed my under eyes were brighter and looked healthier overall. No more dry skin either!

I’ve also really been enjoying the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser. It has a light fragrance that is actually really lovely. The cleaner itself foams up really nicely and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

img_3297

I needed a new texturizing spray, and I know Not Your Mother’s makes good products so I decided to give this one a shot. I use texturizing spray on my hair after curling it, and this one really helps my curls stay all day! It also provides some nice volume to my hair, which is often hard to achieve! ¬†It smells a bit like fabric softener, but once I spray it on my hair I hardly notice a smell at all.

I placed an order at American Eagle early in the month, and while waiting for the order to come I wasn’t sure if I’d end up keeping everything. Well, I did. You can see from the pictures that I clearly love color… (neutrals are just so easy to wear!) The cardigan is the coziest thing to just throw on over a simple top. It’s surprisingly warm despite the little holes. The tan sweater is the perfect length to wear with leggings; the back is slightly longer than the front so your bum is covered! The black jegging long sleeve t-shirt is now the softest item of clothing I own. It’s so comfortable too! I could’ve done with a size small instead of a medium but I was too lazy to exchange it. Lastly, I’ve found the perfect leggings. Never have I found a company that sells leggings in different lengths, but American Eagle does! I ordered a medium short and they fit like a glove. They’re also not see through at all.

Whew! That was a long favorites post. I just had so much I wanted to share with you all. I hope you all had a lovely November, and here’s to December!

Happy November and welcome back to my blog! I involuntarily took a break from my blog as I’ve been quite busy working on project for a client of mine. That project has just about ended now and I’ve found time to share what I tried out and loved during the month of October.

I’m so excited for the month of November as that means we’re one month closer to Christmas! As much as I try not to be, I am one of those people that at the stroke of midnight on November 1st I start making my Christmas playlist, thinking about the first snowfall, and counting down the days until my family and I can go pick out our Christmas tree.

This is not to say I don’t love Thanksgiving though. What could possibly be better than a day spent with family eating mountains of mashed potatoes followed by pie? I can’t think of anything. The combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas truly make the last two months of every year exciting and full of special moments. Before we get into the holiday spirit however, let’s get into what I loved during October!

I have two fashion favorites this month, both of which come from Target! Target has really stepped up their game in terms of clothing recently and I’m so excited to continue to shop there. The clothing is pretty good quality at a decent price and they always have the cutest shoes. I got the sweater for $2o and the boots were around the $40 mark. The sweater is the perfect length the wear with leggings as it’s just long enough to cover your rear end, but not so long that it looks like a dress. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the boots and they’re extremely comfortable. I think I could wear them an entire day walking around NYC and not have an issue. Don’t quote me on that though!

I tried two new lipsticks this month and loved them both! The first is from Maybelline and it’s their matte lipstick in the shade Lust for Blush. It’s a gorgeous mauve shade with a creamy formula that isn’t the least bit drying. I was so impressed with the formula of this lipstick because most times matte lipsticks are drying just by nature. This lipstick is comfortable and I hardly notice I’m wearing anything at all.

The second lipstick is e.l.f.’s matte lip pencil in the shade Cranberry. I absolutely adore a red lip, but sometimes I feel like a bright, bold red lipstick is just too much for an everyday outfit. This shade is perfect when you’re looking for that red/berry shade but don’t want something so bold and loud. Again, it’s a comfortable formula that is perfect for wearing from morning to night.

I didn’t get a good picture of just the Maybelline Brow Precise eyebrow pencil, but I wanted to include it in my favorites here. I had been using e.l.f.’s eyebrow kit for a while, and I still like the formula of the product but I started feeling like the shade I was using was too dark for me. I wanted to try a pencil again after not using one for awhile and ended up going with the¬†Maybelline Brow Precise eyebrow pencil. I love everything about this product except for how quickly it gets used up. I bought my first pencil at the beginning of October and ran out before the month was even over. At $8 or $9 a pencil, I feel like that’s a bit much for a product I have to buy almost twice a month. I will say that the product is true to it’s name and incredibly precise and easy to use. It even has a spooly attached!

img_2946

It’s not often that I get to try out a new shampoo and conditioner as I don’t go through them very quickly due to having thin hair. So when my Renpure shampoo and conditioner finally ran out (I’d been using them since June) I knew I wanted to try something different. I’d heard good things about the Not Your Mother’s line from a friend and decided to go with the products specifically made for people with thin hair. I have to say that I like this combination in the fact that it makes my hair soft, shiny, and smell nice, but I don’t notice any thickening or volumizing effects. I also like that it’s free of sulfates, parabens, and dyes, as all three of those things can weigh your hair down. I don’t know if I’ll repurchase these when I run out though…

img_2950

The last product I have to share is the Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel made with charcoal and menthol. It’s made specifically for people with oily skin to deep clean your face and body while removing makeup and excess oil. This may be the best face wash I’ve ever used. I’ve really seen a difference in my skin since I’ve started using it and it leaves my face feeling so clean and refreshed. This is the first face wash I’ve seen at the drugstore that is made with charcoal, a product known for being beneficial to those with oily skin. The added cooling effect of the menthol is a nice touch too. If you struggle with oily skin I would highly recommend picking this up the next time you’re at the drugstore.

I know every blogger says this every single month, but how is it the end of the month already?! I feel like I JUST put up my August favorites. I don’t have too many things to share with you, but I still thought the products I do have were worth writing about. Personally, I love reading about what people tried out over the past month!

img_2489

You know it’s Autumn when you walk into Bath & Body Works and they have all of the autumnal scents out. Normally $22.50, I waited for them to go on sale and used a coupon I had to get two candles for about $20.00. An absolute bargain! I walked around the shop for ages trying to decide what I wanted before finally settling on Autumn and Mahogany Apple. Autumn is a mix of apple, fig, eucalyptus leaf, and fir balsam and it smells incredible. Mahogany Apple is a mix of mahogany wood, apple, lavender, and pink peppercorn. I honestly don’t smell the last two scents, but the combination works to create an almost men’s cologne like scent. Perfect for when I’m missing my boyfriend!

My skin had been going through a bit of a rough time in September, from what I’m assuming was a mix of dirty makeup brushes (whoops), hormones, and possibly a new product I was trying out. I’ve heard really good things about the Pixi Glow Tonic from various YouTubers and thought I would give it a try. The tonic’s main selling point is that it’s a 5% Glycolic Acid toner, with some other skin loving ingredients in there as well. I noticed a difference in my skin right away! The morning after using this for the first time my acne was so much better than what it was 12 hours ago, and my skin looked brighter. I read that people with oily skin did not have the best of luck with this product, but I didn’t have an issue which I’m really grateful for.

Another product I heard great things about was the L’Oreal Infallible foundation. I finally bought this, although in the wrong shade, and I like it! It keeps me matte all day, is easily blendable, and feels really light on the skin. I have to keep using tanning lotion on my skin in order for the shade I bought to work, but that’s my own fault. However, I did buy the second to lightest shade and I’m worried that the lightest shade they have still won’t work for me… Oh the joys of being pale.

img_2492

Sephora has recently come out with a bunch of new products, one of them being their matte liquid lipsticks. I picked up the shade Fig Luster, and it’s the perfect color as we transition into the cooler months. It’s a grey toned purple, but doesn’t make your lips look dead and lifeless. It doesn’t really dry which is something I was expecting from a matte lipstick, but it still stays in place all day. The applicator is a bit messy but I still love the color so I won’t let that one little flaw stop me from using this product.

img_2497

Finally, I purchased the shimmering skin perfector mineral blush by Becca Cosmetics in the shade Champagne Splits. The highlighter is in the shade Champagne Pop and the blush is the shade Flowerchild. Both are absolutely gorgeous on the skin and last all day. I wrote up a first impressions post which you can check out if you’d like to know more about this product.

Let me know what products you tried out this month in the comments below!
