Makeup is expensive. There is no way around this painful fact. Beauty is pain, and apparently beauty is also money. Foundation can cost you $50, mascara,  which you throw out in 3-4 months, is $25, and a setting powder can run you upwards of $60 in some cases. Hell, even with mostly drugstore products, my full face of makeup still cost me $215!

I’m honestly starting to feel like Spring is a myth; a figment of my imagination that will never come to fruition. The date is March 31, and there is still snow on the ground. Every time the snow melts mother nature decides we need more and gives us a few more inches. I’m so sick of it. At this rate we’re going to have snow in July. If anyone wants to take me on an all expenses paid trip to a tropical island, I would really appreciate it.  Keep Reading!

MAC e.l.f. highlighter

Soft & Gentle, as the man at the MAC counter told me, is the OG highlighter. Before highlighting was even really a thing, MAC had their mineralized skin finishes and was all over the soon to be trend. Naturally, dupes for such a cult classic were bound to come along; one of which is made by e.l.f. cosmetics. Blush Gems might even be mistaken as a travel size version of Soft & Gentle, it looks so similar. Do the similarities go beyond just the appearance, though? I put the two head to head to see which one is better and if MAC is still the go to for highlighters!

I wanted to do something different on my blog today, so I thought I would share the products that I am lusting after and hope to one day buy. As a recent college graduate I don’t have all the money in the world to spend on high-end makeup, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy looking! I follow so many makeup companies on Instagram and I love to see their new releases.

Tartelette In Bloom

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of products I want to own, is Tarte’s Tartelette 2 In Bloom palette. For $45 you get 12 shades, three of which are glittery and the other 9 are matte. I think the copper and rose gold shades are gorgeous and would really make my blue eyes pop. I already own the Tarte Tease palette so I know how good their shadows are. That Tease palette is true to its name though, because now I want to own more Tarte shadows!

Nars Orgasm blush is a cult classic, and I’ve been dying to get my hands on it for a while. It seems to be one of those shades that works on every skin tone, and I’ve never heard anything bad it. I’ve never owned anything from Nars before, and I think their Orgasm blush would be a good place to start. At $30, the price does seem a little steep.

the-porefessional-hero

I recently received a sample of Benefit’s Porefessional primer when I placed an order through Sephora. Upon applying it to my face I wasn’t so sure about it. I thought it felt really oily, and with already oily skin that is not something I need. However, once I gave it a few minutes to sit on my skin, my face felt so soft. My makeup applied beautifully and lasted all day. I would definitely dish out $31 for a full size tube of this stuff.

Lastly, I’ve had my eyes on Mac’s Velvet Teddy matte lipstick for a while now. I have so many pink lipsticks, and I’m really trying to acquire more nudes and purple shades. Velvet Teddy just seems like the perfect peachy, nude color and every time I see it on someone’s lips I immediately think how nice it looks. At $17, it’s really not that bad of a price for a high-end lipstick.

Do you own any of these products? What’s on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading.
