Summer Makeup Look

Summer is upon us once again. The flip flops are out, days are spent by the pool, and ice cream becomes an acceptable food to eat for dinner. People also work on their tans and the makeup looks become simpler and focused around lots of highlight. With that in mind, I wanted to create a look that didn’t take long to do and yet was still beautiful and fit for the summer time.

Nude Lipstick Affordable Makeup

I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do on a 90º plus summer day is cake my face with makeup. No one I know enjoys the feeling of thick makeup melting off their face as it approaches happy hour. Oil and sweat is not equivalent to dewy skin, so less is more when it comes to summer time makeup. With my less is more approach, I like the look of a comfortable, nude lipstick. Bright lipstick is also fun for summer, but for an everyday basis, a nude lip is pretty and close to maintenance free.

Blogger Chat Claire Lee With Love Beauty Lifestyle

Happy Tuesday friends! Today I’m kicking off my brand new collab series, and I’m so excited! I wanted to help other bloggers gain exposure, and I thought what better way than to interview them! This way they gain exposure, and you, my audience, learn some great tips about blogging. I hope through this series that you discover new bloggers who you grow to love and follow.

Today I’m featuring Claire Lee and her blog, Clairbear Blogs. On her blog she features food, travel, and life tips (check out her awesome guide to NYC)!

Claire Bear Blogger With Love Blog

1. When and why did you start blogging?

Originally started blogging last year in April, but I wouldn’t really count that since it was just a small hobby. I started to be really active beginning January of 2017. I started blogging because I wanted to share experiences with the people out there. Talking about my experiences is overrated, and too much, I wanted to write it out (like a journal, but in public).

2. What’s your favorite part about blogging?

I just love expressing the moments and memories through photos and text. It really takes a lot of time and thoughts, but that is what makes fun in blogging.

3. Least favorite part about blogging?

It really takes time, and a LOT of things to learn (which is fun & overwhelming at the same time).

4. Your number one tip or piece of advice for other bloggers.

When you start off, make sure to utilize all the social media platforms, and try to use automated platforms instead of doing everything one by one.

5. One thing you wish you knew when you first started blogging.

Monetizing my blog? I knew people got paid with blogging and social media posts but I didn’t really think it was a complicated process; now I am starting to learn, but you need that grasp.

6. Product, piece of clothing, or beauty tool you can’t live without?

Product will be my iPhone & Mac, clothing would probably my super comfy pajamas, and beauty tool would probably be my eyeliner & a pink blush from Clinique!

7. Favorite song (or top 5, I know it’s hard for me to pick!)

My current favorite song is Drive By by Eric Bellinger

8. One fact that most people wouldn’t know about you

You can easily think I am super outgoing & love being with people, (because I don’t mind socializing with people I don’t know) but most of the time I enjoy being by myself & writing in a quiet room for hours alone.

9. Favorite junk food (we all have one…)

Chocolate chip cookie!!!

10. Most loved quote

“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.” – Orson Welles

Q&A With Makeup Artist Tierney Messmer

I have a fun post for you today! About a year and a half ago I met Tierney Messmer, a professional makeup artist in Rochester NY. I met Tierney through my good friend and photographer, Miranda. I was visiting Miranda out in Rochester, and got the opportunity to model for her on a photo shoot! Tierney was the makeup artist that day, and she did such a beautiful job. Since then, I’ve been following Tierney on social media and admiring her work.

The complete guide to makeup brushes. What they're called and how to use them.

When I first started using makeup I owned about three brushes. I used all three for multiple products and hardly washed them. I figured if the makeup got from the pan or bottle onto my face than that was good enough! As I’ve grown older and more knowledgeable about makeup, my collection of makeup brushes has grown. I now know that each one has a specific purpose and place in a makeup routine. That’s not to say that you can’t break the rules and use a blush brush to apply highlighter (*gasp* THE HORROR!). However you’ll find that your makeup goes on much easier when you use the right brushes.

Office to Cocktails AUrate

Even if you’re not conscious of it, clothing plays a big part in our lives. Every day we wake up and decide what outfit to wear. We base our decisions off of the weather, how we’re feeling that day, and what we plan on doing. For most of us, our jobs are a big influencer when it comes to what we choose to wear each day. Maybe you work in a casual office where jeans and a nice top are acceptable on an everyday basis. Or maybe you have to wear a suit or dress to work every day, complete with pearls and a modest neckline.

Whatever it may be, you probably can’t go right from the office to the bar to meet up with your friends without making a few changes. If you plan it right, making the switch from day to night can be as easy as one two three! By simply changing your shoes and earrings your outfit can look completely different. Switch out your purse for a clutch and swipe on a more daring lipstick and you’re ready to go! Need some inspiration? Check out my ideas below!

Office Outfit AUrate

I like more of a monochrome look, so I went with black and white with a pop of pink from the purse. The gold and black onyx earrings and bracelet from AUrate provide just enough bling without being too flashy. I think the white pants are a nice addition to the outfit and break up all of the black. The blazer and top are both from H&M, which is a great place to shop for affordable work wear! I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do is wear heels to the office for 8 hours. Instead I went with these cute flats from Steve Madden.

Night Out Outfit AUrate

To take this outfit from day to night I’d first start with removing the blazer. Switching your earrings from studs to a more dramatic pair can instantly change the whole feel of the outfit. AU rate has some beautiful statement earrings that would complete any outfit! What do you think? You could stick with the flats, but if you feel like being a little extra, now would be the time to throw on a pair of killer heels. Throw the essentials into a clutch, put on a red lip, and you’re now ready to meet up with the girls!

With a little planning, any work appropriate outfit can also be the perfect outfit to meet up with friends. There’s no need to stress about going home to change! Throw a few things in your car, make the change when you leave the office, and you’re all set! What do you think of my outfits? Let me know in the comments below!
