I know I’ve said countless times on here that I’m a lipstick junkie. While the bucket of lipsticks in my bathroom can testify to the this fact, I’m also a lover of mascara. No eye makeup look is complete without it. In my opinion, the bigger and longer the lashes the better, no matter how many layers of mascara it takes to get there. Unless you reach that crunchy, spider leg look. Then you’ve gone too far…
The Sephora VIB sale happened recently (I hope you picked up some goodies) and I wandered into the store one night not having any particular product in mind. All I knew was that I wanted to purchase something considering Sephora rarely has sales. They really know how to get people to buy 🙈
Some point in between swatching glittery eyeshadow and spraying dry shampoo in my hair I wandered over to be Benefit section and saw the new Bad Gal Bang mascara on display.

Not having any particular product in mind combined with my love of mascara lead me to purchasing the mascara. The brush looked right up my ally (I like skinny brushes) and my curiosity was piqued since I hadn’t heard much about the product. and I also picked up the Lancome La Vie Est Belle Rollerball perfume in case you were curious 😉
The full size product was sold out, however I probably would’ve bought the trial size any ways. You’re supposed to throw out mascara after 3-4 months (I, uh, don’t…) so a trial size should last you the same amount of time as a full size.
On To The Actual Review
I’ve rambled on about my love of mascara long enough. I’m sure you want to just know how the mascara performed and move on with your life.
Benefit claims that the mascara is:
I have oily skin, however I’ve never had an issue with oily eyelids or mascara transferring.
That all changed with the Bad Gal Bang mascara. I don’t like to judge a product after only one use, so I gave this one at least 6-7 tries. Still, each time I found myself wiping mascara off my upper eyelid several times a day. So, smudge-proof? Definitely not.
It’s also an extremely wet formula. I’m wondering if this mascara is better after it’s had a month or so to dry out like some other mascaras. Either way, because it’s so wet my lashes had the tendency to stick together in large, gloopy clumps. Not a cute look, nor is that really volumizing.
The Bad Gal Bang mascara is lengthening, I’ll give it that. I just can’t get past the wet, clumpy formula. I’ll probably use it up, just because it was $12 and that’s the type of person I am, but I won’t be repurchasing.
