So last week I was nominated for an award by the lovely Danielle Ruppert. I never really thought I’d be nominated for any sort of award so this comes as a complete shock and surprise! It was so kind of Danielle to recognize and nominate my blog, and I’m forever grateful for it!

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated
them and provide the link to the post you created.

I think my blog started a little over two years. I started off on Weebly and then about a year later I moved everything over to WordPress. One of the best decisions I made! There’s more of an audience and community on WordPress compared to Weebly.

I honestly was just bored, that’s why I started my blog. I love makeup and have always considered myself a good writer, so I combined those two things, and thus my blog was born. I like having something to work towards and occupy my time, and I think blogging is a great hobby for that. Through blogging my photography skills have vastly improved (though I still have a long ways to go) and I’ve really enjoyed gaining followers and knowing that people enjoy what I post.

My first piece of advice for all you bloggers is to post frequently to social media. The only way to grow your audience is by constantly posting and putting content out there for people to see. Find a time that a lot of people are likely to be on social media (the mornings before work, lunch time, and after work hours) and stick to posting then.

My second piece of advice is to only publish content that you’re proud of. If you’re putting up blog posts that you don’t like just for the sake of sticking with a schedule, your followers will notice. I try to post every Tuesday and Friday, but if I’m not feeling inspired that week I won’t post anything. Simple as that. Publish content you believe in and people will read it.

Once again, thank you to Danielle for nominating me!
