Let’s talk about dupes, baby. If you’ve been around for a bit then you know I love makeup dupes. I even have a series called Which One’s Better where I compare two products to see if they’re truly dupes. Maybe you’ve checked it out?! Or maybe you’ve read my post all about which products to buy from the drugstore and which one’s are worth spending money on.
Either way, I talk about drugstore makeup and dupes a lot here on With Love, and today we’re doing it again. If you have the chance to spend less money on essentially the same product, why wouldn’t you take it? So, let’s dive in to some of the best dupes out there, shall we?
The Ultimate List of Drugstore Makeup Dupes
Beauty Blender vs Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I can’t even tell you how many sponges from Real Techniques I’ve bought. They’re affordable ($6? Um, yes please!), are the perfect density to blend makeup perfectly, and the flat side of the sponge is perfect for blending foundation by the nose. You can also pick up a pack of two of these sponges for $11. That’s still less than one Beauty Blender.
When Beauty Blenders first came on the scene I understand why people bought them. However now they’re are so many great alternatives that I’m not sure why anyone would buy a Beauty Blender.
Mac Soft & Gentle vs E.L.F Blush Gems
This dupe got a whole post devoted to it, but I thought it was worth mentioning again. If you pick up the e.l.f. highlighter in Blush Gems instead of MAC’s Soft & Gentle you’ll save yourself a whopping $30! Seriously, that’s insane.
Sure, you get more product in the MAC highlighter, but the likely hood of you using up either anytime soon is slim. The MAC one also stays on the skin slightly longer than the e.l.f. highlighter. However the e.l.f. highlighter is small enough to throw in your bag and reapply as needed. Once applied to the skin both products look exactly the same and are beautiful!
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer vs Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
I can’t express how much I love the Physicians Formula bronzer. I’ve hit pan on this product which rarely happens in my life. This bronzer has actually become somewhat of a cult classic in the beauty world with so many people singing its praises.
The formula is, you guessed it, buttery smooth and it smells like coconuts and summer. Sure the Too Faced bronzer smells like chocolate but I think the Physicians Formula smell is better. Both bronzers have a matte finish and will leave your skin looking sunkissed and glowy. It just helps that the Physicians Formula bronzer is half the price 😉
Too Faced Better Than Sex vs L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara
*Que the Chandler Bing voice* could these mascaras be anymore similar?! I mean seriously, just look at those wands!
I honestly think the Lash Paradise is better than the Better Than Sex mascara as it doesn’t smudge on me. The mascara holds a curl well and also makes your lashes nice and voluminous! However neither of these two products made my lashes look super long. If that’s the look you’re going for I would try the the L’oreal Telescopic mascara instead.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder vs Coty Airspun Powder
Out of everything on this list, this dupe will save you the most money! $32 to be exact. That’s not even taking into consideration that the Laura Mericer powder is 1 oz of product and the Coty Airspun powder is 2.3 oz product…
The Coty powder is amazing for baking and setting your foundation and concealer. It’s honestly the only loose powder from the drugstore I’ve tried and that I love. It does have a strong fragrance that the Laura Mercier powder does not have, though. However I have very sensitive skin and have never had an issue with the fragrance causing any irritation.
So there you have it my friends, five awesome makeup dupes that will save you a ton of money!
