We got out first bit of snow on Saturday! It was only a few inches, but I’m hoping it’s a sign that we’ll have a white Christmas. The snow inspired me to do a festive makeup look featuring a classic red lip for this weeks post. I did a similar post last year, however, I think this years is better!
My makeup skills have improved since last year and I also have my mom to help me take photos. I just took a bunch of selfies in front of the window for last years holiday makeup look #bloggerlife. I thought about doing a look that doesn’t feature a red lip, as I know it’s so cliché. However, if you’re a regular on the blog you know I’m obsessed with this lipstick.
It’s the perfect shade of red for my skin tone and I have yet to actually use it in a makeup look for the blog. So, what better time than now? I did talk about it in this post if you want to know more about the perfect red lipstick.
To start things off I used the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I’ve really been loving this silicone primer recently as it blur’s lines, fills in pores, and is oil free! On top of that I used the Fenty Beauty foundation. I’m 100% obsessed with this foundation at the moment. On days I use a different product I look in the mirror and think to myself “man, I should’ve used my Fenty foundation”. Safe to say I’ll be repurchasing once I run out!

In addition to doing a wing, I also used the Marc Jacobs black gel eyeliner on my lower waterline. I love the way lining my waterline makes my blue eyes pop. Can we also take a moment to appreciate how white red lipstick makes your teeth look? If red lipstick weren’t so high maintenance I’d wear it every day.
I didn’t want to use too much bronzer as I like the cooler look for winter. So I used a little bit of bronzer from the e.l.f St. Lucia blush and bronzer duo. I also used the blush in this palette which is one of my favorites! The flecks of gold create a beautiful glow on the cheeks.
For a bit more of a glow I used the Tarte highlighter in Exposed. It’s such a lovely highlighter that isn’t overpowering but provides a nice pop of shine.
So, maybe next year my holiday look will be something different, but until then, enjoy this classic look!
