Back in October, Huda Beauty launched four new eyeshadow palettes. I was in Sephora one day late last year (it feels weird to think of 2017 as being last year) when I first spotted them. In the line, there are four palettes: Warm Brown, Mauve, Smokey & Electric.
The one I was immediately drawn to was the Mauve Obsessions palette. When I saw the plum and rose gold shades it was like love at first sight. I almost bought it that day, however, the store was out of stock. I walked out of the store empty-handed but I quickly added the palette to my Christmas list.
When my dad handed me a little-wrapped box on Christmas morning I was so excited. It was one of two things: jewelry or the Huda Beauty palette. After ripping the paper off I was ecstatic to see the palette!
Most of the palettes in my collection are various shades of copper and brown, so this pink toned palette is a welcome addition. For $27 you get 6 matte shades and 3 shimmers. These shadows are 0.039 oz vs the standard 0.05 oz, however, when will you really ever go through an entire eyeshadow palette? The palette also includes a mirror inside the sturdy, cardboard packaging.
I’ve seen some good reviews, and some criticizing the quality of the shadows. Huda Beauty is known for quality eyeshadow and I feel as if this palette is no exception. I’ve always believed I’m just not good at blending eyeshadow (part of which has to do with my brushes), but this palette has changed my mind!

I have never had an easier time applying and blending shadows. All of a sudden I feel like I can take on the world! Or, maybe, the makeup world… okay fine, my own face. Still, it’s exciting to finally feel like I’m good at doing my eye makeup!
The matte shades are all smooth and buttery. They’re the slightest bit powdery, but I have had no issue with them. I honestly roll my eyes when I hear people complain of a shade being the slightest bit powdery. Tap your brush off and move on, it’ll be okay!
The three shimmer shades are a bit chunky, but again, I haven’t had a problem. I prefer to foil glittery eyeshadows anyways, which helps lock in the shimmer and makes the shadows pop a bit more.
All nine shades work together to create some beautiful looks. I don’t think there’s a color combination you could do that would result in something ugly. While berry toned shades may seem intimidating at first, they’re all so wearable! I’ve been wearing this palette to work most days and I never feel like it’s too much.

Each of the swatches is just one swipe from my finger; I didn’t try and build up the shadows. You can see some of the chunky glitter I was talking about in this photo, however, I wouldn’t let it deter you. This Huda Beauty palette really is stunning. I’ve had such a fun time playing with the shades and breaking out of my comfort zone a bit!
What’s great about these little palettes, is that for only $27 you get to try Huda Beauty shadows that are loved by so many. Other palettes by Huda Beauty go for $65+!
Think you’ll give this palette or one of the others in the collection a try? Let me know in the comments! I’d also love to hear what some of your favorite eyeshadow palettes are. I’ll probably be looking to add another one to my collection soon. 😉
