Out of any makeup product, I definitely own and have tried the most lipsticks. I love lipstick so much and think that it can make or break your makeup look. I will admit though, I have a tendency to buy a new lipstick, wear it non stop for a week or two, and then buy a new one and start the cycle all over again. I might challenge myself someday to go an entire month without buying a single lipstick…but like I said, someday! There are so many incredible formulas out there, and out of the ones I’ve tried I’ve narrowed it down to my top five.
e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipsticks
For $3 each, this e.l.f. lipstick is truly incredible. It’s smooth and buttery with shades that are so pigmented. It’s comfortable on the lips and will last a decent amount of time. I do find I have to reapply this one more often than other lipsticks I own, but that isn’t a big deal to me when the color payoff and price are just right.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams
I own five different colors of this matte liquid lipstick, and if that doesn’t tell you how good it is, then I don’t know what will. The color stays all day, the matte formula doesn’t dry out your lips, and it has the consistency of velvet. I’ve honestly never felt anything like it. This formula comes in so many different shades that I’m certain you’ll find one you love.
NYX Lip Lingerie
I think the thing I love the most about this lipstick is the doe foot applicator. The tip is rounded so perfectly that it makes putting the lipstick on quick and easy. The actual formula is a little sticky, and initially that was concerning to me. I didn’t think it would last all day or be comfortable. I was wrong about both things! This specific shade, Bedtime Flirt, is the perfect nude color for me and is great for everyday.
Rimmel The Only One Lipstick
When I saw this shade (You’re All Mine) in the drugstore I knew I had to have it. I love the color, and was equally impressed with the formula. It’s a semi matte lipstick and is definitely a thicker formula than the NYX Matte Lip Cream or the e.l.f. moisturizing lipstick. It has a sweet scent, so if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing I would stay away from this one, but otherwise it really is nice! It’s comfy and incredibly opaque.
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick
I don’t own many high-end lipsticks, and this one from Marc Jacobs is actually a mini that came with the Sephora birthday gift this year. I had heard some YouTubers talk about these lipsticks and was really excited when I got the chance to try one out. This is hands down the best lipstick I’ve ever tried, and I really wish the full size version wasn’t $30. It’s just so smooth and soft and truly feels luxurious. It’s not patchy in the least bit and the color lasts for hours! I will definitely be buying a full size version once I have the money to do so.
What are some lipstick formulas that you love? I’m always open to trying new things.
