I know every blogger says this every single month, but how is it the end of the month already?! I feel like I JUST put up my August favorites. I don’t have too many things to share with you, but I still thought the products I do have were worth writing about. Personally, I love reading about what people tried out over the past month!

You know it’s Autumn when you walk into Bath & Body Works and they have all of the autumnal scents out. Normally $22.50, I waited for them to go on sale and used a coupon I had to get two candles for about $20.00. An absolute bargain! I walked around the shop for ages trying to decide what I wanted before finally settling on Autumn and Mahogany Apple. Autumn is a mix of apple, fig, eucalyptus leaf, and fir balsam and it smells incredible. Mahogany Apple is a mix of mahogany wood, apple, lavender, and pink peppercorn. I honestly don’t smell the last two scents, but the combination works to create an almost men’s cologne like scent. Perfect for when I’m missing my boyfriend!

My skin had been going through a bit of a rough time in September, from what I’m assuming was a mix of dirty makeup brushes (whoops), hormones, and possibly a new product I was trying out. I’ve heard really good things about the Pixi Glow Tonic from various YouTubers and thought I would give it a try. The tonic’s main selling point is that it’s a 5% Glycolic Acid toner, with some other skin loving ingredients in there as well. I noticed a difference in my skin right away! The morning after using this for the first time my acne was so much better than what it was 12 hours ago, and my skin looked brighter. I read that people with oily skin did not have the best of luck with this product, but I didn’t have an issue which I’m really grateful for.

Another product I heard great things about was the L’Oreal Infallible foundation. I finally bought this, although in the wrong shade, and I like it! It keeps me matte all day, is easily blendable, and feels really light on the skin. I have to keep using tanning lotion on my skin in order for the shade I bought to work, but that’s my own fault. However, I did buy the second to lightest shade and I’m worried that the lightest shade they have still won’t work for me… Oh the joys of being pale.

Sephora has recently come out with a bunch of new products, one of them being their matte liquid lipsticks. I picked up the shade Fig Luster, and it’s the perfect color as we transition into the cooler months. It’s a grey toned purple, but doesn’t make your lips look dead and lifeless. It doesn’t really dry which is something I was expecting from a matte lipstick, but it still stays in place all day. The applicator is a bit messy but I still love the color so I won’t let that one little flaw stop me from using this product.

Finally, I purchased the shimmering skin perfector mineral blush by Becca Cosmetics in the shade Champagne Splits. The highlighter is in the shade Champagne Pop and the blush is the shade Flowerchild. Both are absolutely gorgeous on the skin and last all day. I wrote up a first impressions post which you can check out if you’d like to know more about this product.

Let me know what products you tried out this month in the comments below!

Over the weekend I went to Sephora armed with a giftcard and zero clue as to what I was looking for. After walking around for a bit and covering myself in endless swatches and glitter I came across the Becca Cosmetics display. I’ve swatched the highlighters before, but to be honest I never had much of interest in them. However, after assessing my makeup collection I decided I wanted another powder highlighter to add to it.

So, when I saw the beautiful highlighter / blush duos it was a no brainer to me; two products for the price of one? Yes please! I purchased Champagne Splits, which is a highlighter in the shade Champagne Pop and a blush in the shade Flowerchild.

I swatched these in the store and immediately made my friend swatch them as well. Both the highlighter and the blush are so buttery and smooth it’s unbelievable. Both the highlighter and the blush¬†have the same peach undertones so they complement each other beautifully. The highlighter is stunning, and catches the light in just the right way. I’m the type of person who says more is more when it comes to highlighter, and this one is perfect for that.

The blush is highly pigmented, so it’s important to use a light hand when applying it to avoid looking like a clown. You’d be a cute clown, but still, best to avoid that look all together. I usually get the blush on my brush and then blow a bit off before applying it to my face. You can always add more blush but it’s harder to take it away once it’s already on your face.

You can find some great highlighters and blushes at the drugstore, but I think you’ll be hard pressed to find anything that’s comparable to this product. At $38 it’s certainly more expensive than a drugstore product, but you get what you pay for.
