I’ve mentioned my oily skin so many times on my blog that I thought it was about time I share my favorite products for controlling my skin. It’s definitely been a long road of trial and error, and I’m sure that road will never end, but I finally have some staple products that I can rely on every day to make my skin look matte from morning to night.
I think I’ve beat these two products to death on my blog as well but they truly are amazing primers! Before the Porefessional primer I never felt like primers helped to control my skin or minimize the appearance of pores. I can happily say that the Porefessional does both! The matte rescue is a product that I like to think of as a little security blanket; it ensures your skin will stay matte all day but it’s not necessary. The full size Porefessional retails for $31 and the full size Matte Rescue retails for $28.
The Fit Me foundation for normal to oily has truly been life changing for me. I’ve gone through countless bottles at this point and still continue to love it. It provides a medium amount of coverage that lasts all day and goes on flawlessly. It really does help to control oil and shine as well. At around $5 a bottle, you really can’t go wrong this amazing foundation.
Two powders that I love are the Coty Airspun loose powder (left) and the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Both retail for around $6 so they’re completely affordable drugstore options. I think the Coty powder does a slightly better job at keeping me matte, but only because it’s loose so I can really get a lot or product on my brush. The Coty powder is also nice to bake with if you’re in to that sort of thing.
Oily skin can often mean oily eyelids, so I finding a good mascara is extremely important! Neither the Covergirl Super Sizer or the Maybelline Lash Sensational will run, transfer, or flake off through out the day. Both provide great volume and length will giving a false lash effect that I absolutely love.
I always finish my makeup off with the NYX Matte finishing spray. It’s just that extra little step to really lock in your makeup and make it look perfect! It retails for around $9 and can be found at CVS and Ulta.
Let me know what some of your favorite products are for controlling oil, as I’m always on the lookout for new makeup to add to my routine!
