I’m not going to be one of those people who talk about how slow January felt. For me, the month flew by and I can’t believe it’s already the 8th day of February. That means there are less than 3 weeks left in this month. I know there are only 3 fewer days in February but man it feels incredibly short.
Anyways, January was a fun month! Luke and I took a trip to Lake Placid, which I talked about in my Valentine’s Day Gift Guide so I won’t go on for too long. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed eating out, cross-country skiing and going to a world aerial skiing championship! I say we enjoyed cross-country skiing but I really just mean he did. I learned that that activity is not for me. At least I gave it a go!
I’ll see Luke at the end of this month (he’s back at school now) but until then I have two Galentine’s Day events to go to! As we get older finding time to spend with friends gets harder and harder so I can’t wait to spend quality with the lovely ladies in my life.
Anyways, the point of this post is not for me to ramble on, it’s to share the things I loved throughout the month of January. So before I go on another tangent, here we go!
If you don’t know, I’m a rep for Bluebird Tea Co, a lovely tea company that started in Brighton, England. A few weeks back I received their Dreamtime Collection and immediately fell in love with all 4 teas. In the collection, there is Lazy Boy, Cats Pyjamas, Moondrop Dream, and Dozy Girl. Out of the 4, I’ve really been enjoying Lazy Boy and Moondrop Dream. Both are delicious with a little bit of honey added to your cuppa (do the Brits still use that term…?). If you want to place an order you can use my code WLBTEABIRD20 to get 20% off!
I’m not one for chunky jewelry, so this delicate necklace from Civion is right up my alley. The silver piece goes with everything and is great for layering! This particular necklace is no longer available but this one from Target is pretty much identical.
It seems like every bookshop I’ve gone to in the past few months has had milk and honey featured on a “must read” shelf. Milk and Honey is a #1 New York Times bestseller and well reviewed by many. The collection of poems are ones of abuse, love, loss, healing and acceptance and should be read by every woman. The poems are both simple and complex and cause you to really step back and think about what you’re reading.
I’ve talked this little palette to death on the blog so I’ll keep it short and sweet. The Mauve Obsessions palette from Huda Beauty is easily the best eyeshadow palette I’ve ever used. The shadows blend beautifully and the color combination is unlike anything else I currently own. There are 3 other Obsessions palettes and I really want to get the Warm Brown one next.

Luke gave me the Instax Mini for Christmas and I love it! Tiffany blue is one of my favorite colors and he went to multiple stores to ensure I got the camera in this color. Before Christmas, I was trying to guess what he got me and he told me it’s something I’d been wanting for two years. For the life of me, I could not think of anything I’d been wanting for two years.
When I opened up the present I was so surprised that he remembered! Even I didn’t remember I wanted the camera. Since then I’ve really enjoyed taking polaroid pictures and watching as they pop out of the camera develop. Each photo is one of kind that can never be duplicated!
I’ve been wearing this sweater from American Eagle nonstop since I ordered it in January. They were having a sale on clearance items and I ordered a few different items. The tie detail on the sleeves is a nice touch that sets this sweater apart from others. It’s slouchy, cozy and cute, which are my top three priorities when shopping for sweaters.
Unfortunately, this one in particular is no longer available but this sweater is pretty similar.
Underneath that sweater, I’ve been wearing this gorgeous bralette from Free People. It has a clasp in the back like a regular bra which I appreciate. There’s nothing worse than struggling to pull a bra on over your head when there’s just elastic. Scratch that, trying to take off a sweaty sports bra is worse, but I digress.
The rose color is so pretty and a welcome addition to all of the white and black bralettes I own. I also like that the halter neckline allows some of the bralette to show underneath the sweater.
